Having trouble deciding which kind of Caster your character should be? Or maybe you want to brush up on the abilities your Caster has. Well, read through all the different types of powers here.
SIREN- A siren is very special, in their own way. They have the magical power of persuasion. A good example of a Siren is Ridley. With one lick of a lollipop, you would jump off a cliff if she asked you to, not questions ask. They can be dangerous in their own way. When you can make anyone do anything that you want to, things can get way out of hand.
NATURAL- A Natural is very rare in the Caster world, and quite similar to a Cataclyst (below.) Their powers are very much limited, but at the same time very hard to control. They can control weather, cast any sort of spell, whatever it is that they want to, with much training.
CATACLYST- A Cataclyst is also very rare in the Caster world, and quite similar to a Natural (above.) They have the same powers as a Natural, but are more out of control and wild. A Cataclyst is exactly the same as a Natural, but they have gone dark. They seem to have a small obsession with fire, whether they cast it out of thin air or controlling fires already set.
SEER- A seer isn't a Caster at all, although they are still very closely connected with the Caster world around them. They have the ability to speak to those who have been deceased, and they possess powers only through those in the 'Other world' that grant it to them. A good example of a Seer is Amma. They often use things like Tarot cards and chicken bones, and salt is their mightiest weapon.
INCUBUS- An Incubus isn't that much of a Caster, either, although again they are very connected to the Caster world and still accepted into the Academy. They have the power to 'Travel' - which is very like apparating in Harry Potter. They 'rip open the sky' as it is described, and there is a loud tearing sound, and then they disappear. Incubuses can feed on either blood or dreams, dreams being a harder diet to live by. They are incredibly strong and fast, and often give the impression that they either attend a gym often or are on steroids. (Females are referred to as Sucubus.)
PALIMPSEST- Palimpsestry is very difficult, and being a Palimpsest can be seen as more of a nuisance than a gift. Upon walking into a room, they see everything that happened there, from the very beginning up to the very moment that they are in. They have the ability to share this power with others. Meaning, if you join hands (usually in a circle) you can see everything that a Palimpsest sees. This can be very confusing, and what you usually see are just flashes, doors opening and closing on what has happened in that room.
THAUMOTURGE- A Thaumoturge is a healer in Caster form. They have the ability to heal those around them, and they generally have a calming, loving presence. It's very hard to find a Dark Thaumoturge.
ILLUSIONIST- An Illusionist is similar to a Shifter (below.) An Illusionist can only create Illusions. They make things look like something else. For example, Larkin has a fondness of making his arms look like snakes, but they actually are not.
SHIFTER- Shifters are similar to Illusionists (above.) They can change anything into something else, whether it be for a limited time or permanently. They can make money out of rocks, ferraris out of boxes. Of course, usually within reason. The bigger the shift, the more energy it takes.
EMPATH- An Empath is a power unique and yet not unique. They have no special abilities unless they choose to take them from someone else. An Empath can take powers from another Caster, sometimes disabling the other's powers. For a limited time, of course.
SYBIL- A Sybil has an interesting power. They can take one look in your eyes and know anything about you. Whatever you have felt, whatever you are feeling. Whatever you have seen, whatever you are seeing. They can see what has happened to you and sometimes what even will happen. As a result, one look in your eyes can earn you a sympathetic hug, and 'I'm so sorry.' - and you won't even know why.
MORTAL- Mortals are what they are - mortals. They hold no power and most often are not aware of the world around them, unless they are the Caster Librarian. Then they only Keep records and work hours in the Caster Library (which is open on Mortal Library holidays.) They cannot get involved in anything.
