After spending a good few hours with a girl called Gabrielle and finding out that she was either a Cataclyst or a Natural caster and that her abilities was fire related, Alena had decided to take a walk through a field, which just happened to be vacant. Not another person in sight, which would make for a good place to try and recall ones thoughts and memories and of course a great place to practice and control her abilities. She walked to the center of the field and took a seat on the cold grass beneath her. The dress she was wearing, wasn't very flattering in this position, but that didn't bother her too much as no-one was around at that time. She sat in the lotus position with her legs crossed and her arms resting gently on her knees. Her fingers poised and she took a few deep breathes to calm her nerves and center her thoughts.
In the past all she had done was light a few candles, with only her mind. She simply thought about the flames, and envisioned the candles lit in her minds eye. So that is what she did, but as there were no candles around, the only thing in sight was her sat in an empty field; which to a passer by would look strange to say the least especially when her entire body lit itself in flames. Her reaction was to jump up to her feet, and scream for all she was worth. "HEEEEEEEEEEELP" an over exajurated plea for help, when no one was around and if they were, what could they possibly do to help? she began to wave her arms flailing about, jumping up and down on the spot a few times, then as she calmed a little she stopped jumping around like a lunatic and rolled around on the ground...Stop, drop and roll was what she was thinking at the time.
She was somewhat shocked at what she had just done to herself and glad that no one was around to see what a complete idiot she had just made of herself. Once the flames were out, and her thoughts were calmed completely she re-took her seat on the floor and this time in her minds eye she focused and imagined a circle of fire around her. Closing her eyes, then opening them again to see she had succeeded. A circle of flames danced around where she was sat, in a circle a mere few inches in height but still it was an achievement. She focused hard on the flames and watched them, sat there in complete silence. Smiling to herself at what she had just achieved in a matter of minutes. Wondering what else she could do if she had the time and the patience to learn and teach herself like she'd just done.
